DIRECT ANSWER
Use Battery/DC bus first. Then enable the navigation equipment you need, start the AC generator on large ships, and finally start the engines.
Startup order
Follow the chain in this order. A large ship may refuse an engine command until its AC bus is supplied.
- Battery / DC bus — Shift + B
- GPS / AIS (ENIS) — Shift + G
- Radar — Shift + R, where fitted
- Sonar — U
- VHF radio — Shift + C
- AC generator / bus — Ctrl + B
- Engines — Shift + E
Useful light controls
Once the DC bus is on, the bridge and navigation lights can be powered.
- Running lights — L
- Internal lights — Shift + L
- External lights — Ctrl + L
- Spot light — Alt + L
- Monitor brightness — Alt + B
If the engines still do not start
Confirm the battery is on, try the AC generator on a larger vessel, then isolate controller conflicts before resetting bindings.
